Basil and mini workshop

For some reason, I haven’t been very successful with my vege garden this year.  The sweet basil seedling I got from the swap, remained the same size for a few months and have now been dug out by birds 😦

On the other hand, the perennial basil that I got as a cutting at an earlier swap has taken off after I popped a few stronger stems into pots.  All pots except one has been given away so I have to take extra care of this pot and hopefully propagate some more.  I wonder which variety this perennial basil is?  I couldn’t find anything similar doing a search for images on Google.

So it looks like we need some professional help!  The great news is that this coming Saturday, Ros, our very own herbal therapy specialist will be running a mini workshop on preserving herbs, focussing on basil.  (I’m glad she doesn’t have to rely on me for basil!) So do come along and join us for some learning, sharing, tasting and lots of fun!  Mark the date in your diaries now and set the alarms 🙂  It is anticipated that the workshop will start from 10.30am.
