Croydon Food Swap

Promotes and encourages sustainable gardening

May 2013 Swap

Someone mentioned that this was the best swap ever…it did feel like it after a few rather quiet swaps the past few months.  So first of all, a BIG WELCOME to new swappers who came along to make the cold morning a success!

Let’s see if I can remember all that we had (in various forms; seeds, seedlings, plants, cuttings, ready to eat, etc)…aloe vera, chamomile, lavender, celery, ferns, broad beans, kale, lettuce, parsley, coriander, strawberry, silky oak, jacaranda, NZ kowhai (I think), oranges, lemons, limes, vietnamese mint, chillies, silverbeet, spinach, squash, marron, zucchini, pumpkin, marmalade, bay leaf, eggplant, alyssum, broccoli, peas, elderberry, winter savoury, cherry guava and more!

We also planted strawberries in the school garden bed.  Thanks to all who dug, weeded, planted, mulched and provided the company. The kids will love the strawberries when they appear!
